I did like this book but I was slightly disappointed in this installment of the series. I have read all of the previous Haunted Bookshop Mysteries by this author and loved them. This one however was only a "like" for me.
Jack is not as present is this book. He is the reason for the series to me and his diminished presence was very much felt. While he does appear, it is not nearly as often or as bold as this reader would have liked.
Also, Ms. Kimberly has thrown in a lot of stuff near the last 1/4 of this book that is much more on the "paranormal" side than just simply the ghosty side. For those who are learly of things such as Ouija boards, pentagrams, mediums, seances, and such you may squirm a bit in some parts of the story (mostly near the end). It didn't bother me since it fit in the context of the story, but I know some folks don't like the mere mention of those things. A few loose ends were left dangling to me but I'll leave that to you all to decide if I just missed something.
Overall it is a good read and worth it. I look forward to the next book in the series. I love Jack and Pen, as well as all the other wonderful characters in the series. Alice Kimberly is a great writer and The Haunted Bookshop is a wonderful series. Hopefully the series will go on for many more books and remain strong!

A bit disappointed in this one....after the last two I expected this would be phenomenal! Well, Jack (the ghost) wasn't around as much and it just did not feel as "developed" as the rest of the books. A quick read but not a GREAT quick read.

This is the 5th in a great series! If you love mysteries and want to read one with a lot of twists, this is the book for you! It's quirky and a refreshingly different mystery than the usual fare.
I enjoyed it immensely. Cannot wait for the next in the series!

I found this book to be another delightful book in this series. I enjoy the relationship that keeps developing between the characters. I am looking forward to the next book in the series which I hope comes out soon..... toward the end of the year.
