This is the first part of the story (wish I'd known beforehand) that continues in 1 or more books. Although the plot held my interest, it ends quite oddly or I should say, it just ends. The characters are interesting and the story is a huge build-up to a climax that doesn't come which is quite disappointing. It started out great and there are a few good scares, but this struck me as more of a crime story with an occasional visit by the supernatural.

This book grabs you from the very first paragraph! A fast paced, scary, well-written thriller. It has a little of everything, good guys and bad guys, good ghosts and evil, walking dead and werewolves. It does leave you needing to read the next one, but very well done!

Evil doesn't die Pine Deep buried the horrorsof its past a long time. Thirty years have passed since serial killer sheared a bloody swath through the quiet Pennsylvania village. Now, residents and tourists enjoy the country' largest Halloween celebration in what is cheerfully called the spookiest town in America. But a month before halloween it begins again. Unspeakably descrated bodies. Inexplicable insanity. And an ancient evil walking the streets, seeking to shred the very soul of this vunerable community. Yes, the people of Pine Deep have faced a killer before . But this time, evil has many faces-and the lust and will to rule. This struggle will be epic
