This was an ok novel, I thought it would some how be deeper, and a quicker read, however it turned out to be little more then a sheet grabber. A term I use to refer to books that start out with a good idea but end up copying bad romance novels with cliched haunting stories. The writer does not try to grab the reader, instead it cuts from one scene to the next like a bad made for TV movie. I wish I could have stopped reading it, but I am one of the few who cannot stop reading a novel simply because I don't like it. If the story starts, I must know the ending, for this I pity myself. Simple book and possibly fun, for those who like the easy read, and occasionally steamy books... thought not for me.

Nikki DuMOnde is an actress in New Orleans. Suddenly her best friend is killed and Brent Blackhawk shows up. He is investigating the death of an FBI agent.. who has been seen after he had died. It is soon discovered that Brent is a NA with special powers of seeing and communicating with the dead. He joins forces with Nikki and soon falls in love with her. He soon realized that his beloved Nikki might also be in danger.
If you have been to New Orleans, you will also enjoy some of the stories behind some of the places there. A hauntingly good book and realistic enough to be believable.

I didn't realize this was the second book of a series, but the book easily stands alone. Good story, but a little choppy. Lots of red herrings to mislead the unwary readers.

I read this book just before and during my first trip to New Orleans. I liked the fact that most of the places in the book are real. I recognized them as my daughter and I explored the French Quarter. The book is entertaining, but I found the way the ghosts behaved to be completely unrealistic - bordering on hokey.

Nikki Dumonde has always been aware of the history in special places, but she discounts the idea that ghosts wander in any of the tourist attractions she hosts. Until her fellow guide and friend Andi, appears in her bedroom at the exact time she was dying. And when she begins seeing the ghost of the FBI agent who was killed, she needs the help of some one who does believe in ghosts, Brent Blackhark.
A little slow in the beginning but it was a pretty good read once you got into it.
I Love the Harrison Investigation series. Graham knows how to keep the reader interested with engaging Characters and some plot twists and turns.
I love Heather's approach. She gives enough info about her main characters for you to "know" them and for you to look hard at the ones that you'd like to trust or know. This one continued to keep me interested throughout. Harrison Investigations team is definitely one to call for paranormal assistance!

Kindhearted Andy, the newest employee of a haunted New Orleans walking tour, gives a homeless man $20. Later, her boss and best friend, Nikki, wakes up at 4 a.m and sees Andy standing at the foot of her bed begging for help; she then discovers that a heroin overdose killed Andy at that same moment. Brent, a consultant on things ghostly, is brought in to investigate the murder by heroin of an undercover FBI agent. Believing that there is a link between the two deaths, he joins the tour company, quickly becoming Nikki's protector once she is threatened. There are good reasons for Graham's steady standing as a best-selling author. Here her perfect pacing keeps readers riveted as they learn fascinating tidbits of New Orleans history. The paranormal elements are integral to the unrelentingly suspenseful plot, the characters are likable, the romance convincing, and, in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, Graham's atmospheric depiction of a lost city is especially poignant.
