This is a reproduction of an old 1966 book about the world of dolls with black and white photographs. It was a series of books in the Lonely Doll books.
I think that this was one of Dare Wright's best stories. I would have given it five stars instead if four and a half if it not for the compromising picture of Edith and Mr Bear (but it does seem like there was at least one of those in each Lonely Doll book)
