This was a fun if goofy twisted story. It had a lot of the tongue-in-cheek feel of a Piers Anthony Xanth novel or Spider Robinson Callahan's without the horrific puns. Two paranormal buddies Duke the werewolf and Earl the vampire are on a road trip and end up in a possible end of the world situation caused by a teenage girl reciting spells in Pig Latin.

Every part is played for laughs from the law enforcement in the town the humorously named Sheriff Marshall Kopp to the sorceress' minion whose one thought is pretty much what most teenaged boys think about.

It a fun light read and after reading the preview of the next book by this author I'm looking forward to another fun story.

It was just fun all the way. The characters and the storyline are a hoot. The author has a very engaging writing style that somehow combines hilarity with horror. Highly Recommend!

I bought this book a while back thinking it sounded fun. I kept putting it off because most books that are supposed to be funny just don't come across like that to me. Finally I decided to read it and what a joy it was. I flew through the book and enjoyed every bit of it. It actually made me chuckle many times throughout the book. I will definetly have to get Mr. Martinez's other books.
It's about a vampire and a werewolf who are friends. That right there is not what is considered the norm and from there it takes off. There's a mix of everything from zombie cows, a teenage witch, ghosts (doggie ghosts too), ghouls, etc. Turns out, they arrive at a spot where strange things are happening. They decide to stick around to help out. Then all hell breaks loose... literally. I highly recommend this book if you like a simple read with a lot of fun!

I wasn't sure I would enjoy this book but I did. It was humorous and had some different takes on the typical lore and legends of vampires and werewolves. I loved the zombies possessed by evil spirits talking amongst themselves.

I really enjoyed this book! It was a fun and fast read. I liked the humour and really, just all-in-all, liked the book! Vampires, werewolves, witches and ghosts always make for fun characters and I liked Martinez's twists on the traditional myths and rules for these creatures. the teenagers and narration and dialogue were just really funny. Though this is apparently a young adult book, some of the language and situations are a bit adult, so be warned for young readers. I am glad that I have purchased some other books by this fun writer and I am looking forward to reading them!
