I really liked this book. After reading the description, not knowing the author I was skeptical, but it was so emotional, the characters so real and the story just kept you riveted. This is a love story and a tradegy and it is told so beautifully that you do not find yourself judging the inappropriate things that people did in the book, rather reading faster and faster to see how it turns out. I highly recommend this book.

I found the author's writing to be stilted and weak. Lusting after an 18 yr. old was sick (would people have seen it differently if the male/female role was reversed?)and thinking that she was in love was ridiculous. Even Mrs. Robinson waited until her friends' kid got out of college. As far as the references to God and prayer, Billy Letts was more believable in "Where the Heart Is" at least her prayers were tongue in cheek. Please.. you don't chase after your friend's kid (have you seen 18 yr. olds lately) just under your kind husband's nose and then ask God to put his stamp of approval or forgiveness on it.
I absolutely loved this book. New author to me and I will be checking out her other books. A sweet, tender love story that is quite heart breaking. I am down to the last few pages and can't seem to make myself finish the book knowing what is about to happen.
I loved the book and now my daughter is reading it.
fair at best.
