This is the funniest book that I've ever read. I consume about 200 to 250 books a year...a portion of them humerous. This is the best.

I read this book over thirty years ago and several scenes are so memorable (read hysterically funny) that they are etched in my memory. It is the funniest book I have ever read by a wide margin. The downtrodden, gentle Kirby and his new girlfriend get delicious revenge over some evil bad guys using the magic watch that Kirby's inventor grandfather willed him.

This is like nothing else MacDonald ever wrote and it is a comic classic.

I first read this book back in the mid-sixties. I was an avid reader of John D. by then, and this was a departure from what I expected of him. It was hilarious! I would normally synopsize the book at this point, but I don't want to give away the story. When I restarted the John D. adventure recently, I knew I had to have this book to reread. It is just as funny now as it was then. I just wish I knew where to get a watch like that.
