I've been bingeing this series ever since I started it. I really relate to Commissario Brunetti and his personal dedication to truth and justice with unrelenting determination in the face of rampant obstruction, disinterest and corruption. The characters and criminal activities are always interesting, as well as the dynamics of Brunetti's workplace and family relationships. The resolutions are often neither forthcoming, as expected, nor ultimately satisfying...just like real life.

As always, another well written book in this series. The characters continue to be developed, the story line is different while also being familiar and the descriptions of the city of Venice and the food make you feel like you're walking and eating with the characters. I love this series!
This was my first Donna Leon book. I would read another one because this one is well written. The story is not as complex as other mysteries, so it would not be my first choice.
