Not exceptional, but a good solid book with the ups and downs in the life of a young girl employed in domestic service in early London. Her life of hardship, her love, her dreams, her losses. The characters shine, but the star of the book, Dolly, falls short a bit. Jmo. The wrap up is rather evident on one hand, a few surprises on the other. All in all, rather entertainimg.
