This is a short story book that starts with a Dragonriders of Pern novella, but goes off in a lot of different directions from there. The casual reader can find a wealth of short stories and Dragonriders of Pern fans can get a taste of Ms. McCaffrey's other works. A great read...and some of the best stories have no sci-fi or supernatural lean whatsoever.

I think that the book was great, as are all of her books. I had already read the paperback version, but was disappointed in it, because it appeared that the story was cut short and another story started up, without any kind of notice given. I had thought that there was a misprint error, in the book.
After buying this cassette book, I found the same problem. My complaint with this cassette book (and the paperback version)is, that there was no indication of these being two books in one. There was/is nothing on the cover, or inside the book indicating that it actually contained more than one story and that they were not connected in any way. Please do not let my comments stop you from reading/listening to this story, as it is a good story (but apparently with no ending).
