Another solid entry in the Millennium series. This is the second in the series by Lagercrantz who took over writing these after the death of Stieg Larsson. I thought the original series by Larsson was one of the best thriller series in recent years. After his death, I thought it was the end of the series but Lagercrantz continued where Larsson ended with THE GIRL IN THE SPIDER'S WEB. I recently read WEB and thought it was good although not quite up to Larsson's trilogy featuring Lisbeth Salander. EYE FOR AN EYE was a good followup to WEB. It starts out with Salander in prison for her role in saving an autistic boy in the last novel. She makes enemies with the prison villain, Benito, who has been terrorizing a young Islam woman. In the mean time, Salander's former guardian pays her a visit which piques Salander's interest in finding out more about what happened to her as a child. Of course Blomkvist, the Millennium editor gets involved which leads to a years old conspiracy involving illegal experimentation and study of childhood twins which Salander was a part of. The story mainly focuses on another set of twins in the study and sometimes I felt that Salander's role in the novel was somewhat limited. But overall, the compelling storyline kept the pages turning and I would recommend this one. Not sure when or if another book in the series will be released but when it happens, I'll be looking forward to reading it.
