This book was just okay in my opinion. I liked Jennifer Weiner's book of short stories, so I thought I'd like this one too. I found some of the stories to be inappropriate for the short story genre. The topics some of the authors chose needed more development than you can get in a short story. There were several that I really liked however. "In Agony" was probably my favorite one along with "Party Planner" . I liked "Good Men", but I had read it before. "Changing People" was one that I felt needed much more development. It could have been great as a novel. Perhaps Sophie Kinsella will make it into one!

I didn't think I was going to enjoy this book, but I really did. I think there were only two short stories that I could have skipped without missing out and the rest were just great. I was driven to read the book because I wanted to read more by Sophie Kinsella and I did quite enjoy her story, but the best part was that I got a sampler of other writers that have a similar genre and voice to that of Kinsella, which absolutely made my day. Girls Night In is a very quick read and is easily read alongside of other books because it is a collection of short stories by a range of authors. None of the stories are too long and they are perfect to get more enjoyable reading into your day. This is definitely worth a credit!!

Cute stories - some better than others - but a good way to learn to styles of different chick lit authors

In this must-have short-story anthology, Jennifer Weiner revisits one of her Good in Bed characters (and tells the story from, ahem, his point of view), Jill A. Davis (Girls' Poker Night) offers a darkly humorous take on starting over in New York and working with "the Elizabeths," Sarah Miynowski (Milkrun) tempts fate (and an on-again-off-again boyfriend) and Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez (The Dirty Girls Social Club) considers how different the words lady and woman are when paired with cat. Girls' Night In features stories about growing up, growing out of, moving out, moving on, falling apart and getting it all together. So turn off your cell phone and curl up on the couch; this is one Girls' Night In you won't want to miss.

Lots of fun to read short stories and also see writing styles of some of the best chick lit authors around! :) I am not normally a fan of short stories, but these were really cute! I believe some of them are also in the UK edition of the same book b/c I felt like I had read a few before.

A story collection from all your favorite Chick Lit authors. Each story is only 10-15 pages, and each reflect the style of the writer. Very much enjoyed!

A wonderful collection of short funny stories. Of women just being women and living life.
I'm not a big fan of short stories, but this was nice to read a little tidbit by authors I've never read, to see if I would enjoy their books. It's also good if you can only read a little bit here and there.

Good mix of authors. Light, fun read.
Excellent book by superb authors!
Fun collection of stories by a variety of current fiction novelists.
A great collection of short stories from many best selling authors. Easy reading and fun!
This is a great way to get introduced to new(to you) chick lit authors. Even if you only pick this up because the woman who wrote your current favorite novel is featured you'll still find something else you enjoy. I admit there were some shorts that left me scratching my head and say "Whaaa?" but that's a part of life. Besides, it would be pretty boring if everyone had the same writing style.
Some of the short stories are great...like the ones from the big name authors such as Sophie Kinsella and Meg Cabot. The others...well, not that great actually. I made myself read the whole book and at the end, realized I should have just read the stories by the authors I knew and loved.
Love the concept of trying out several authors, but really only liked a couple of stories in this collection. Good for lunch time reading.
A collection of short stories from the best of the chick lit genre. If you read any chick lit, I would say this is worth picking up. I liked taking a break every little bit to read a short story that I could get into quick and then come to the conclusion in just a few short pages. I think I should do this more often, adds variety to my reading.
Although there were some stories that I wished were full blown novels, there were some that I was glad would be ending quickly. Without going and dissecting each story, I would say that the majority were at least a little enjoyable.
Pick this one up at your local library or used book store, but you may not keep it around for long.

Great light chick lit for short reading bursts.
Some of these stories were wonderful, funny, and very entertaining. Others I didn't like. It was still a great book and would reccomend it to anyone who likes Chick Lit or Romance books. It's great for a girl's night in.

Very short quick reads by lots of authors. Stories were not really long enough for me.
Great short stories! If you loved Four Blondes, you'll love this book.
Fun short girlie stories! A fun read for the most part. Some of the stories are kind of stupid though! But it is a should read if you enjoy chic lit!
A great sampling of 21 chick lit authors. Quick, fun read.
Anthology with popular authors.
Includes authors Jennifer Weiner, Sophia Kinsella, and Meg Cabot. Anthology of short romances in all styles and flavors. Great for carrying around to sneak in quick reads!
A good collection of chick lit short stories.
Short stories are a tough form. Most of these women are MUCH better novelists.
I enjoyed reading the different authors. Some of the stories I wish would have been longer, and some of them I skipped. A great collection of chick lit stories
This is a fun book. Great authors!
Several great short stories that any woman can relate to!!
I loved this! Really great! Can't wait for the next one!
A GREAT short-story collection by some New York Times bestselling authos Jennifer Weiner, Sophie Kinsella, Meg Cabot, and more!
Good collection of short stories from many popular authors of good chick lit. Some of it I wasn't as fond of as others, but it's all about the method and the story. Worth a read! :)
This book has a few good short stories, but most are not worth reading.
Very fun! I laughed out loud.
I can honestly say there were some stories I LOVED. They left me wanted more from some of the short stories. On the other hand there were a few I just found boring and had me uninterested. All in all it is a fun easy read.
Great stories...a quick read that's perfect for poolside!
I loved it! There were a couple of stories that really lost me, but overall, it was highly entertaining.
Fun, light reading. Series of short stories.
Short stories by some of the most fabulous women writers w/ New York Times best sellers. A very fun read.
Cute book w/ a collection of short stories.
Fun, short stories for when you don't have a lot of time to read. Many popular "chic lit" authors showcased.
From Publishers Weekly
The third installment (the first to be published in the U.S.) in a British-originated series, this uneven anthology of stories by chick lit\'s bright lights showcases some engaging voices. Many of the selections, however, lack focus and shape, and while most begin energetically, more than a few fizzle before ending abruptly. Notable exceptions include \"Cat Lady\" by Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez (The Dirty Girls Social Club), in which a woman trying to embrace her inner spinster (\"Dear self: If you are still single and haven\'t had one good date in the preceding two years... [s]ave yourself a future of humiliation and too much makeup and realize one important truth: You are now a cat lady\") finds unexpected romance. In \"New York\" by Jill A. Davis (Girls\' Poker Night), a woman recovering from a breakdown finds her niche and a second chance for success in magazine publishing. Premonitions by a psychic roommate in \"Know it All\" by Sarah Mlynowski (Milkrun) help the story\'s narrator finally make a decision regarding her on-again off-again boyfriend. Some big names disappoint, including Jennifer Weiner (Good in Bed) and Anna Maxted (Running in Heels). The anthology supports an excellent causea percentage of the proceeds go to the humanitarian organization War Childbut it\'s not consistently gratifying as entertainment.
