A great story of a single mom with two daughters. In her struggles and determination to succeed, she swore off dating. Then Vince the single crime writer comes back to the island. Very entertaining and funny along with the romance.

Jillene McDermott is a widow with two daughters, trying to make a success of her late husband's coffee bar. Things aren't going well and her debt is getting higher. Then she meets Vince Tremonti, a successful True-Crime writer who has returned to his hometown to visit his father and rethink his career. Vince doesn't think the time is right for him to get involved with anyone. But as he and Jillene keep getting thrown together due to her daughters' scheming, Vince must might change his mind.

This was a solid contemporary romance with realistic characters. Jillene and Vince feel like real people with real problems. You couldn't help rooting for them, even if Vince had some commitment issues. I loved the secondary romance in this book which had Vince's dad trying to ask a lady he had loved for years to a Lobster dinner. My only problem with this book was that Vince took until the last few pages of the book to actually tell Jillene about his career problems that had brought him back to his hometown. My rating: 4 Stars.

Jillene is recently widowed with two tween daughters. Her husband left her the coffee bar, and a huge debt. Renaming the coffee joint and breathing new life into it cause her daughters to see how hard their mom works. So they write her a personal ad.
Vince is back home to rethink his career as a crime writer. He meets Jillene at Java the Hut, and can't get her out of his mind. When he stops by her house, jillene gets some creep calling her about her personal ad, and Vince takes care of it for her as her "boyfriend."

I surprised myself and found I enjoyed this book far more than I thought I would. The writing was great; very funny and very real. I really felt I understood Jillene and there were times I felt very proud of her. The story with Vince's dad seemed a little out of place, but I did like getting to know him. Good book.

All Jillene McDermott needs is a little breathing room, and the only place she can find it is in the bathtub. Her coffee bar, Java The Hut, is on life support, and raising two daughters alone is a full-time job, so quiet moments in the tub are a rare treat.

Knowing their mom desreves some appiness, Jillene's daughters, Claire and Faye, write her a personal ad. But their good intentions go wrong and Vince Tremonti, the town's most famous son, has to step in as Jillene's "boyfriend".

Vince is a crime writer who is back in Blue Heron Beach to rethink the grim reality of his career, and he can't afford to get involved with anyone, much less a young widow with a ready-made family.

But, thrown together, the two can't deny the mutual attraction and they realize ther eis more between them than a summer fling. Suddenly, lattes are not the only thing steaming in Blue Heron Beach.

Jillene is a mother facing the trials of life as best as she can. She is a widow with two preteen daughters, a struggling coffee bar, and a mountain of her late husband's debts. While she may need a white knight, she does not really want any more complications like romance in her life. However, her daughters have different ideas and place a personal ad, hoping to find happiness for their mom.
The answer to their prayers comes in the form of Vince Tremonti, a true crime writer who fears his soul is becoming too dark from long exposure to the murk of humanity's basest elements. He has come home to try and find some peace with himself and his career. He finds himself continually involved in Jillene and the girl's lives, and falling in love reluctantly. Yet, he plans on making his stay a temporary one, so how can these three females fit into his world?

Jillene McDermott is a widow with two daughters and her coffee shop business is in serious trouble. Jillene is facing bankruptcy and she has no private life. Her daughters decide to help her start dating by placing an ad in the personals section of the newspaper.

Meantime, Vince Tremonti, a local citizen who grew up and became a true crime writer, is facing his most serious problem in his career with a murderer who killed to get Vince's attention. Vince decides to go home to see his father and get away from a book deal that has gone sour.

The book is typical Stef Ann Holm, interesting and a page-turner.
