In "God Has a Dream for Your Life," author Sheila Walsh uses the lessons from the book "The Wizard of Oz" to remind each of us that God has a plan for us. In this very personal book, Walsh discloses her own faith struggles while incorporating the knowledge she has learned along the way. Walsh also includes the stories of other women who God is working through.
This was a very inspiring book to read. The main point I got out of it is that God wants us to dream our own dreams and he wants to fulfill them for us. As Walsh points out, there's no secret prayer we have to pray everyday (i.e. The Prayer of Jabez), but if we put our trust and faith in God, He will change our lives in miraculous ways and we will find happiness.
This is an encouraging book for anyone who has given up on the dreams they once had for their life, or thinks that perhaps God has forgotten them. Walsh reminds the reader that praying for God to use us for His will, does not mean letting go of our dreams. On the contrary, it means asking God to fulfill the dreams of our hearts in the way only He can.
The only negatives I can say about this book are as follows: As mentioned in the synopsis by Amazon, this book does start to drag toward the end. But it's only because the first two-thirds of the book are so packed with helpful and inspiring writing. Secondly, I would say that this book, although, specifically written for women, would be a blessing to men as well. It could have been written in a more gender-neutral format and been an inspiration to twice as many people.
Overall, I would highly recommend this book to anyone - whether you're reading it because you have lost hope for your life, because you never want to get to that point, or because all your dreams have already come true, you will be blessed by this book.

I got this book in the mail today, and I could NOT put it down. I absolutely devoured it, and finished it. It felt as if the author could see into my secret thoughts and knew what I needed to hear... It just made me feel GOOD... Every woman should read this.
