I bought a copy of this book for myself after reading it to a little friend because I could not stop laughing. The description of how the little bunny attempts to open the egg (push it, jump on it, throw little rocks at it) is mirrored by the attempts of the chick that hatches from the egg to wake the (now sleeping) bunny (push it, jump on it, throw little rocks at it). The illustrations are gorgeous (the Lilian Obligado version is my favorite), the animals are adorable and the story is funny and sweet.
