This book was a magical journey through New York City at the end of the 19th century. Two magical creatures, a golem named Chava without a master, and a jinni named Ahmed, meet. The story and characters are wonderful, and I very much enjoyed the setting and the era as well.

This is Helene Wecker's first book, I can't wait to see what she writes next!
