This book kept in its grip from the beginning to the end. I had trouble making it through sometimes, because it is so graphic and children are involved. As a parent it made me think, more than I wanted to about the reality of child abduction. I would recommend this book, but know that it is very graphic in places and it will stay with you.

Kidnapping of a young child becomes very, very complicated. Lots of action, violence and intrigue.

Lehane is always a good read. This particular mystery cum morality tale is worth reading even if you've seen the movie.

This is a story about a kidnapped child. The ending is not happy -- but the reason is not what you think. Good Book.

Dennis Lehane delivers a story that impacts anyone who reads it. The plot bobs ans and weaves through those who should be trusted but are as corrupt as those who work the underbelly of society. Yet this story goes beyond the good and the bad and asks of the reader what would you do if you had to make a decision that would spare someone further mental and physical pain that could change their life forever and also yous ?
