The Good Father follows the choices that single father Travis Brown has to make. He's been doing rather well raising his daughter on his own. She is the light of his life. But when his house burns down and he loses his construction job, Travis is at a loss. He has to have money to take care of his daughter, so when a job offer comes from Raleigh, he is thankful. That thanks is soon short-lived though, when he finds out the job is criminal. He needs the money to care for his daughter Bella, but if he does it, he could lose her forever.

Robin Saville is engaged to the future mayor and is finally healthy after a successful heart transplant. Robin hasn't thought about her baby girl she gave up since her birth, but when her fiance's unwed teenage sister asks her to assist with the birth, all of Robin's old memories come dragging back.

The Good Father is a heart-wrenching tale with complex characters and seamless writing. Hard to put down? Try impossible. I found myself so caught up in the lives of these characters, I hated to see it end. Chamberlain is at the top of her game with The Good Father! I can't wait to see what she has in store for us next.
