A sad but also uplifting and haunting book. I picked it up because I like post-apocalyptic books, but that's not really what it's about...it's about the need for connection with other people, what we make of our lives, what we do when it seems all is lost.
I'm not that good at analyzing what I read while I'm reading it, so I should have twigged to the relationships long before I did.
Be warned, you will not get a conclusive ending and this is not a plot-driven story. It's got lots of lyrical writing but very little action. If you like people rushing about and doing things, you won't find that here. As for the ending, I rather liked that possibilities are left open. I found it very absorbing, and not a real long book, I finished it in a few hours.
