Book only, no plush animal left with it. Just as the other reviews have said, this is a delightful book. I always find myself as wrapped up in watching the animals sneak into the zookeepers bed and then his wife having to take them back (well not all, a couple manage to stay warm and cozy in the zookeeper's bed).

My kids wanted to read this every night! It's a hilarious little book about a gorilla who steals the zookeeper's keys and lets all the other animals out. It has no words, so we all got creative with telling the story in our own words.

This is my all-time favorite for a bedtime story! I love the brightly colored pictures and the story is just too cute. The guard at the zoo is on his way home after his shift and the animals are pretty smart cookies. It's the animals adventures with the night watchman and his family. I just can't give the story away-just read it. You'll love it...It's easy enough for a beginning reader to give it a try as well. Fun to act out with some favorite stuffed animals too.
I suggest the other Peggy Rathmann books as well-10 Minutes 'Til Bedtime and Officer Buckle and Gloria. They are all based around the town of Napville. 10 Minutes takes you on the furry little creatures Bedtime Tour. Officer Buckle and Gloria is a safety book with Safety Tip # 101 Always Stick With Your Buddy! Highly recommend!!

An unobservant zookeeper is followed home by all the animals he thinks he has left behind in the zoo.

How darn cute. My daughter laughed every time!
Very cute book aimed towards 7 and under.
Very little text. Charming story for bedtime. A good snuggling book.
Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. I think my 7 month old baby did too.
My little nephew (14 months) loved this book! He had me read it to him again and again. It's a really cute little story about a bunch of animals that follow a zoo keeper home at night. Obviously this is a board book, so I didn't expect the story to be complex at all, but it is VERY simple and mostly pictures and one or two word sentences. Very cute for a little one.
we love it! so cute for the little ones.
I love the simplicity of the book,
Very cute illustrations of different zoo animals...and each animal's cage is a different color and matches its key, teaching colors and matching. It's simple and fun, and silly. Could you imagine an elephant and a monkey coming home to bed with you?
This is my various Kindergarten class's all time most popular book. They pick it all the time, not sure if it's because it's a board book, there are basically no words (beyond good, night, and an animal's name.
Youngsters are delighted by this book of few words with a BIG story. The pictures make it possible for the child to 'read' it to you instead of the other way around. So fun!
This is another of my 16 month old daughter's favorites. She likes the pictures, and that I make the animal's noises on each page. I like that I can narrate a lot of extra story elements with how little text is printed.
This is a fantastic kid's book on several levels. The pictures are adorable and the story line is quite simple. If I didn't have another copy, I would not get rid of this book.
LOVE this book! Maybe that is why we had 3 copies here! :0)
Board book good-night story, a favorite of ours.
