An eleven-year-old boy is home sick from school when he witnesses a girl being kidnapped off the street. He gives a vague description of the man and vehicle to Garda Peter Fisher who immediately starts a hunt for the vehicle. This case leads to trouble for both Fisher and his partner Detective Cormac Reilly.

This story had a lot going on with the kidnapping, shooting, suspensions, and police corruption. There were at least three plots. I thought the middle of the book was a bit choppy, but the story got back on track and had a good ending.

I listened to the audio version of this book narrated by Aoife McMahon. She does a phenomenal job with these books. My rating: 4 Stars.

Slow-moving and depressing, not up to the standard of the first two novels in this series.
