I really enjoyed this story. A woman who stands by her man & lives her life waiting for him to return. She raises their son alone, struggling & bouncing from job to job.

This was my first Stewart O'Nan "read" on audio CD. If this had been a paperback, I would have called out from work to stay home so I could read it. It's that good!

A book written almost exclusively in 'tell' rather than 'show.' Where was his editor? I didn't care much for the wife, though that doesn't make for a bad book. It was the same, same, same, totally actionless book that made it so boring.
Terrible, terrible, terrible. Should be a zero. Could not get past the first couple of chapters. It made no sense to me.
