Grace Takes Off is the best of the series so far. Very suspenseful/thriller for a cozy series. I think even non-cozy lovers would find this one good. I'd give it 10 stars!
Not my favorite of the series; it started off slow, went into hyperdrive and then settled back into a good pace. While I liked it overall, the whole plane story, IMO, was overly dramatic and just seemed out of sync with the rest of the story...and frankly the series. Had a good but not really surprising ending but it won't keep me from reading the next one.
I totally enjoyed this book as I have all of them in the Manor House Mystery Series. In this episode Bennett and Grace go on vacation in order to meet a very old friend of Bennett's childhood who resides in Italy. They are overnight guests in the beautiful mansion of the friend in Italy. As they are shown his home they notice a number of extremely valuable pieces that Mr. Pezzati has on display. However, while handling a Picasso Skull that Bennett and his friend came upon as mere children Bennett notices that it is not the same sculpture.
As you read this book you'll come upon intrigue, questions, and a murder in flight. What else is a good book made of? It's a quick read packed with so many details, each one with a reason attached and spun as only Julie Hyzy can do. I give it 5 stars.
