Even if you aren't a Civil War buff, this book makes for interesting and entertaining reading. It follows Ulysses S. Grant through his last year, which he devoted to writing his memoirs. Not at all dull. Touches on his earlier life in the military and as president of the United States and brings in many other celebrities of his time.
