I felt like I had read a prequel to this book, as it provides a lot of backstory about what characters have done in previous adventures, but I don't recall reading any other book with these folks. There may be a book called "Lythande". This short little hardback book - square, less than 6" per side with large print, can be read in an hour or so. The whole book is related to some magicians and magical folks attending a royal wedding. Interesting characters that draw you in immediately. Lots of loose ends that you could pull on for sequels or more books but enough closure for a short story with satisfying ending. Some good villains - but also some annoying good guys, so people are not one sided despite the fairy tale format. Interesting read, not as good as her Darkover fiction, but appealing for folks that like magic - I won't say more to avoid giving away the plot.

A short story, yet powerful and engaging. Very much like a fairy tale.
