a terrific Kate Shugak Alaskan native mystery.
Mutt, Chopper Jim and all the familiar loved characters.

This is the first I've read by this author ...and I'm impressed! Strong characters .... terrific storyline that keeps you guessing til the very end.
Kate digs into handyman Len Dreyer's past to try to solve the mystery of why on earth anyone would want to murder him. Exciting as always.
An enjoyable book, paints an almost inticing picture of life in Alaska (my dh keeps trying to get me to move!) Enjoyable
A dead body is found in a glacier.Who really was this person, and why did someone want him dead.
Very good and exciting book. Thought it was a great read.
One of a very good series of Kate Shugak novels.
Another Kate Shugak mystery. Investigating the death of Len Dreyer, a handyman in the Park near Niniltna, Alaska. State Trooper Jim Chopin asks Kate to help him dig into Dreyer's background, in the hope of finding some motive for his murder. She takes the case, mindful of the need for gainful employment a she copes with her responsibility for Johnny, the teenage boy in her care and a constant reminder of his father, her dead lover. Little does she imagine that by trying to provide for him she just might put him right in the path of danger.
great series! I love the Alaska setting and you feel like a native once you get through the series.
A Jack of All Trades in the Park is found under a receding glacier by Kate's ward Johnny and his friends while on a school field trip. Not as good as the last couple from Stabenow as she spends a lot of time moving the character arcs forward at the expense of the plot, but still quite a good read.
***** I love Dana Stabenow, if you haven't read her Kate Shugak is a kick butt female with a very exciting life in Alaska.
A Kate Shugak mystery about a missing handyman whose body is found left by a receding glasier
Good story as are all the Shugak series, especially if you're interested in Alaska
