A well-written, sensible, no-nonsense look at self-protection via firearms. Not a bit of machismo; in fact, in several places he shows why that sort of thinking is stupid & deadly, esp. when carrying a weapon. A bit dated in the discussion of why certain firearms are preferred, but still sound advice.

Talks about 'why' as well as 'how', the mental aspects of carrying a deadly weapon, and adds an important chapter about 'what happens after a shooting'. [Hint - say nothing beyond 'I would like to consult with my lawyer before answering questions". Call a friend, tell them where you are, on what charge you're being held, and have that person call your lawyer.]
