This wasn't a very impressive collection. The stories read on the CDs are classic horror stories, but I wouldn't call any of them great. The Fall of the House of Usher by Poe was the least dull of the six, and anyone who knows horror also knows that Poe isn't very horrible by today's standards.
The other five stories were distinctly dull. They are A Watcher by the Dead, Ambrose Bierce; The Body-Snatchers, Robert Louis Stevenson; Adventure of the German Student, Washington Irving; Dickon the Devil, Sheridan Le Fanu and The Open window, Saki.
Geraint Wyn Davies, the reader, has a gorgeous voice that makes even these rather beige stories worth listening to.
I won't listen to this collection again, and can't recommend it for anyone who likes horror.
