This book is a collection of short essays about a year in the life of a 12 year old girl growing up in a small Upper Michigan city (Norway) in 1950's. She relates stories about going to school, the county fair, church functions, summer camp and spending time with family and friends. I went to school in Norway and grew up in a small town near by, so I am familiar with a lot the places and things she writes about. I found it to be a quick, easy read that could be relatable to people who grew up anywhere the Mid-West during that time period. It would be of special interest to people from this local area.
