This is an absolutely riveting fictional story (based on non-fiction accounts) of women POWs in a Pacific Japanese internment camp during WWII. The main characters are all various nationalities (from Australian Army nurses to American civilians, etc.). This book should be required reading for all young people. A bibliography for further reading is included in the back. This book is very hard to find now, but highly worth doing so. I have an old paperback copy and am hanging on to it.
