I enjoy the characters in all of her books, she's able to write strong women without making them over masculine & tough men with great personality. She's very good at creating twists & turns that keep you guessing everytime you turn the page. Not as good as Ashes to Ashes or Dust to Dust, but worth checking out.

Tami Hoag has the gift of grasping the reader and holding us hostage, like many of her charcters are held, of course the hold she has on us is a pleasure.

Awesome follow up to "Night Sins". I answered alot of unanswered questions. Tami keeps you guessing and second guessing yourself. I think it would be hard to follow if you didn't read Night Sins first.

This book took me a while to really get into. I kept having the feeling that I had read this book before. I think it was because I have read a few of her other books. I finally came to the conclusion that it was a sequel to another book. If it would have given some background information in the beginning, I wouldn't have been questioning things as I read on.

Scary, well-written, a great follow-up to Night Sins. The romance in this one is way better than the first book. Jay Brooks, a Southern crime writer falls for the district attorney prosecuting Dr. Garrett Wright, who has been arrested and stands trial for a heinous mind-torture kidnapping of a little boy. Ellen has her work cut out for her, and romance is the last thing on her mind as she and her team work with what they think is rock-solid evidence against one of the most slimy and sinister criminals out there. Something no one else seems to see.

SUSPENSE FROM PAGE ONE YOU CANT PUT IT DOWN
I was hooked immediately and it became an obsession to get to the end! I've read just about all of Hoag's books and this one doesn't disappoint. I had an idea of who the shady character(s) were, but I was still shocked how it all played out. I did feel some things were left unanswered, but I guess it was to be expected...leaving questions for the reader to ponder/decipher and come up with our own answers, maybe?
This is a really good sequel to Night Sins. I recommend this page-turner to all Tami Hoag fans; I don't think you will be disappointed.
Second Tami Hoag I read. Night Sins was the first. These two books together with A Thin Dark Line, made a true Hoag fan out of me. Greatest three books ever.
This is a good book I will be reading more by this author for sure. Her books take you right in...
WARNING: Make sure you read 'Night Sins' before you read this book...'Guilty As Sin' gives away all the action in 'Night Sins', thus depriving you of the enjoyment of reading another great Tami Hoag novel.
Good Book, wonderful mystery, chilling read
Tami Hoag is a wonderful author of suspense - great book!
READ "NIGHT SINS" FIRST!!!
I am a newcomer to Hoag's writing, but I really enjoy it. Fast-paced, character driven and entertaining to read, this story in particular is a winding path of twists and turns and you never really know who to suspect until the ending. At least, I didn't.
One thing that I did NOT know about this book before I read it - it is actually the 2nd in a sequence. I'm not sure if it is an entire series, but the book to read FIRST is "Night Sins," also by Hoag, of course. After reading most of "Guilty as Sin," I came back on PBS to find another Hoag book and realized that the characters in "Night Sins" matched those in "Guilty as Sin." It made a lot more sense to me that the action was sort of in progress already in "Guilty" since "Sins" precedes it.
Now that I am about 1/3 of the way through "Night Sins," and thoroughly enjoying it, I realize that I would have felt a lot more with it while reading "Guilty" had I read "Night Sins" previously. Both are great reads and I highly recommend both!

Sequel to "Night Sins". Good mystery.
Great follow up to Night Sins. I love Tami Hoag and this is one of my favorite books by her. Suspenseful, intriguing and unpredictable.
Great book.
This book will keep you captivated until the very end.
Loved this book. You must also read Night Sins. The 2 books are tied together. I didn't know until the very end. Must read.
Pretty good, but I liked the 1st better (Night Sins). Interesting twist at the end. Abridged - 4 tapes
I love Tami Hoag and this one delivers everything that you would expect - good writing, strong characters, entertaining storyline and a plot that drags you in and under.
Must read Night Sins to fully appreciate the impact of this novel.
The abduction of eight-year old Josh Kirkwood sent small-town Deer Lake, Minnesota, into a tailspin. Even now, after the arrest of a suspect and the return of the boy, fear maintains its grip and questions linger. What happened to Josh in the hands of his kidnapper? Why has he not spoken a word since his return, not even to name his abductor?
Assistant County Attorney Ellen North has the difficult task of prosecuting the suspect in the Josh Kirkwood abduction. Although she knew it would be a daunting task, she was not aware of the media frenzy and terror it would bring.: strange phone calls in the middle of the night and knife-etched obsentities on the car door.
Then another child is kidnapped. And suddenly Ellen is no longer sure she knows who really kidnapped Josh Kirkwood.
Great read, sequel to Night Sins. If you have read that you must read this book. Its an on the edge of your seat thriller.

Sequel to "Night Sins" but the main character switches to Prosecutor Ellen North.
Incredible read!
This book is great! A very twisted plot holds your attention to the very last page.
This was the first book I had read by Tami Hoag and I was immediately hooked! Read "Night Sins" first (although I didn't and it's not necessary) as it will introduce the main characters. Hoag is so skillful an author though that I didn't realize I hadn't read the prequel.

I found this book to be as good as the many others I have read! As I have only read so many, to me, this is one of the better stories to be enjoyed!
a chilling study of evil that will hold you until the shocking surprise ending
The ending to Night Sins. It concludes the story line quite nicely. IMO was better than Night Sins, had more action in it without being top heavy on the pins-n-needles of whodunnit.
Hoag's books are always good for some really horrific crimes and just regular people trying to make sense of them. The main female is perfectly plausible although the male lead character was less so. In any case a good read.
Could not put it down until the end!
suspenseful in places slow in others.

This well-crafted romantic suspense novel by the author of Lucky's Lady (Bantam, 1992) is a tautly written account of life in a small Minnesota town. Megan O'Malley, the first female field officer of the state's criminal investigation bureau, is forced into a close working relationship with Mitch Holt, the town's police chief, when a child goes missing. Against the background of a multijurisdictional criminal investigation, dialog and plot flow smoothly, and elements of romantic tension that serve to define the characters further are seamlessly inserted into the basic mystery/suspense theme. Current news topics, such as the presence of known pedophiles in a community and the problems of childcare in homes with two working parents, help fuel important subplots. The investigatory techniques are all presented intelligently and provide a strong framework for this gripping suspense tale. Highly recommended for current fiction collections.

My cover is different from the one pictured. Josh Kirkwood, 8 years old, has disappeared from hockey practice. The Kirkwood's neighbor, a professor of psychology, is arrested for this evil crime. Is he "guilty as sin?"
I have not read this book.
