Released way back in 2000, at the beginning of the current Warhammer novel run, this remains one of my favorites.
Chapters alternate between different characters facing their own challenges throughout the city...as the book progresses, all the threads intertwine to reveal the true ghastly threat at the heart of Middenheim. Will please rpg fans as well as fantasy battle fans with the mix of White Wolf knights and civilians. I wish the Wolf-worshippers were given more prominence in later books; they seem sane and cheerful compared to the Sigmarite fanatics.
