I think I'm going to start hand-writing the labels instead of printing from my computer.  Printer cartridges are so expensive!  

After a few years of printing the labels, I started handwriting them which saved me lots of $$$· I also write in red letters MEDIA MAIL on the package (since PO stamped this on my packages).

I also found this great source of 200 half sheet labels in the Walmart.com Market place.  It is Maco Brand Laser and Ink Jet Labels.  It is about a third the price of Avery and big box brand labels.  They're all I use now.  http://www.walmart.com/ip/40462460?reviews_limit=9&

Yeah, I did the math on printing labels and never have, as much as I think label printers are fun.  It seemed silly to have to print it on a normal printer as well. Too much effort and needs unused paper!

I have always hand written mine--either on the envelope directly or on address labels I pick up at rummage sales.  (Laid in a good stash at a couple bag sales-whohoo!).   If I don't have labels I just use the back of a piece of paper--why use something new when I have piles of scrap paper?  I'm going to put tape over it anyway to protect from wet.

I have long hand written addresses but I have learned that zip codes seem more important than addresses.  I made one transposed number on a package but the address was correct and the PO, even though the book was just 15 miles from its destination, refused to deliver it.  It was supposed to be returned to me but has never arrived either here or there.  Have often wondered if I just used the name and zip code if the package would arrive but I haven't had the courage to try that yet.  JIC I write it all out, double and triple checking the zip code.

I hand write mine as well. I buy bubble mailers in bulk because they're sturdy and mostly waterproof (I wrap in plastic wrap too, usually), and I re-use the bubble mailers people send me. I don't even own a printer.

If you have a Postage machine in your post office that weighs and prints the postage 24/7, you can enter the destination info and it will print it on a larger label for you along with the postage.

I know I have done this recently, but I am unsure as to whether it is an option on a Media Mail package, because it requires you to enter the postage as Other Amount.  I will have to pay some attention... or maybe one of you knows.
