Lighthearted Colorado sleuthette series, free cross-stitch pattern in every book.

I really love this series, and after taking a long break from it, it was terrific to read this 6th installment. This one seemed better than the previous couple, and makes me want to pick up the next one right away! Very entertaining and fun. And one doesn't have to be a needlework fan to enjoy them, though I certainly am and I love it!

This was a good one! I liked all the talk of ghosts, made it interesting. Looking forward to reading more in this series.

Solving a murder mystery about something that occurred years ago, the author lets us in on all the clues, and we get to clear the accused of the crime right along with her. Fun, lots of action, fast read.

Wonderful read - great for sewing lovers and mystery lovers.

I don't understand the good reviews this book got. This was my first book by this author and definitely the last. I found parts of the story just thrown in b/c it needed something to fill the pages rather than actually contributing to the story. Luckily, it was a fast read and I didn't waste too much time on it.
Great small town cozy.
Needlecraft shop owner, Betsey Devonshire, is a great character. Now it's up to Betsy to unravel a five-year-old murder case that refuses to die...
Another good one in this series, Love it.
Good mystery whether you are a craft lover or not. Monica Ferris comes through again with another Betsy Devonshire crime solver.
There was no great mystery to this one or a whole lot of suspense, but it was an enjoyable read. Betsy sets out to solve a 5 year old double-murder and help clear the name of the supposed murderer, which she does with relative ease. The whole book is basically Betsy running around talking to various folks to see what they have to say about the murders then figuring out what really happened. Like I said, no thrills or chills but an ok book none the less.
Betsy owns a needlework store which is the background for her sluthing - here she solves a 5 year old double murder? - a bit farfetched but still a fun read
Cute cozy
I loved this book! It was my first one by this author, and Ive already started another by her.
If you like cozy mysteries~ Im sure that you would like this one!

So far, this is the best by Monica Ferris that I have read. The little romance brewing between Betsy and Morrie is a great addition to this series. I can't wait to read the next one.
Betsy Devonshire is new to Excelsior, so she does not know that the contractor she hired to fix her roof is suspected by everyone to have murdered his lover and her husband 5 years ago, and gotten away with it from lack of evidence. But when Foster Johns protests his innocence and offers to pay her to investigate, Betsy believes him, against the advice of most of her friends, and she is determined to find the truth.
This book went a little slower than previous volumes of the series. There seemed to be long stretches of conversation that didn't lead anywhere, to hide one clue which was pretty obvious to the reader anyway, and long stretches of description. If I wasn't as interested in the characters, having read previous books, I might have been more bored with this one. Still, the mystery was decent, and although a bit of a stretch in places in the final revelation, satisfying enough to make me stick with the series.

Monica Ferris writes a good book. You laugh and wonder if you can figure out who did it. You feel like you know the people in these books and they live just down the lane. A great read.

If you enjoy needlecraft, you'll like this series.
The intrigues of a small town and its gossip as related to an old murder. Amatuer sleuth who also owns the Crewel World shop, so she also discusses handwork, i.e. crewel, knitting, embroidery.
Now I want to learn to needlepoint. . .
Just a fun read, especially for people who ride public transportation.
Fun cozy mystery series, even if you do not like needlecrafts.
An excellent read!
#6 in a great series.
Nice Series; Betsy Devonshire owns a needlework shop in Excelsior Minnesota; Here she unravels a five year old mystery involved Foster Johns!
A fun series that takes place in Minnesota.
another winner in the series
Cute little mystery book, but not *too* twee, if you know what I mean. Recommended.
I enjoy all of Monica Ferris' mysteries...they include real people.
Betsy is still new enough to Excelsior, Minnesota, to not know a scandal when she causes one. So when she hires Foster Johns to fix her roof, the resulting uproar has her needled. The whole town has pinned a five-year-old unsolved double murder on him. Betsy believes Johns when he says he isn't guilty and she sets out to prove his innocence.
This book is a cozy and part of a series, have read all her books
I thoughly enjyed this book and the others in the series. I really hate parting with the books, but I think others should get a chance to read them.
Light reading.

I'm enjoying this series quite a bit. This one was a bit of a disappointment, although not because of the writing. I'm not fond of stories-within-stories, and there were a lot of "flashbacks" and ghost stories. A good read, but not my favorite, just because of my own personal tastes.
Betsy Devonshire hires a man to fix the roof to her needlework shop, and she finds that most of the town think that this man has been guilty of a double murder five years before she hired him. She has to find out what really happened! A great story with warm, friendly characters and lots of suspense in this cozy mystery!
