I've read nine of Ann Purser's Lois Meade series so when I saw she had an Ivy Beasley "spinoff" I couldn't resist. I'm very glad I picked up this series. I found myself drawn into Ivy's world quicker than Lois'. The murder is immediately introduced along with a secretive neighbor. I found myself intrigued by this neighbor, Gus, who ends up working with Ivy, her cousin and a fellow nursing home patient...or inmate as they like to call themselves! I didn't guess the murderer and the story kept me intrigued until the end. I'm reading book two and looking forward to more adventures with Ivy and her detective team.

I loved this book! It was the perfect English village cozy mystery, very character driven and gossipy...fun!

Took me awhile to get into this book, about 75 pages, but finally things started to come together and the action picked up. Hopefully the next book will start out stronger.

Feisty Ivy Beasley has moved into "Senior Community" and is bored to death....that is until she and her wealthy cousin team up with a couple of other folks to form an "association" to solve the murder of an elderly woman. It was a bit slow starting, but ended up being a fun read..I will be reading the next in the series to see how all the characters develop.....and if the "Association" continues to thrive....
Not as enjoyable as Purser's Lois Meade series. Did not find main character,Ivy Beasley, particularly likeable.
A little slow at the beginning but gets better as it goes on

I thought I would try this book series since I loved the Lois Meade series. I didn't like it at all. In fact, I read the second book thinking I'd give it another chance, but it was worse then the first book.
