Great story, Julie James has got her writing style back. This is just like her initial story Just The Sexiest Guy, where the romance between the two are off the charts! In It Happened One Wedding you are in for a treat. It has humor, sarcasm, steamy romance, and quite a build up in the relationship. Unlike James' last books, she does not get caught up in the crime story and the couple is thrown together. I like how these two lovers have separate, independent careers and the focus is not lost on solving a crime to throw them together. Instead it is both their siblings who are getting married that is the reason they get thrown together. I liked the pace, the intrigue, the witty dialogue and you end up really liking the characters since James' takes the time to define them and it feels very personable. I loved this book and would give it 10 stars!

Vaughn is a FBI agent. He is happily single and likes to play the field. He has "rules" when it comes to dating (no contact in 7 days after sex, etc). Sidney recently moved back to Chicago after she caught her fiancé cheating a few weeks before her wedding. Vaughn hits on her in a coffee shop. She calls him out. However, their families are going to be linked. His brother Simon and her sister Isabelle are getting married.
I liked this enemies to friends to lovers romance. I liked that Sidney knew what she wanted and was so unapologetically good at her job. Vaughn too. It was refreshing reading about 2 competent adults. No miscommunications.

After wasting three years of her life on her cheating fiance, Sidney Sinclair is looking for a man who is ready to settle down. The handsome man who is hitting on her at the coffee shop certainly does not fit that description. He is a playboy who has no problem moving from one woman to the next, and Sidney calls him on it. But an hour later when her sister asks her to be her Maid of Honor at her upcoming wedding, Sidney meets the best man. He is FBI Agent Vaughn Roberts, the guy from the coffee shop. Sidney and Vaughn are constantly thrown together in preparation for the wedding, and he is getting harder and harder to resist. Vaughn is determined to win her over, it's only a matter of time.
Another winner from Julie James. This is an enjoyable contemporary romance with some very funny scenes between the hero and the heroine who are constantly being thrown together. My rating: 5 Stars.
