This book has three elements of a great read, historic house, ghosts, and a great-looking man! It's another winner by Heather Graham. It doesn't end the way I thought it would, but it certainly held my interest. Hope you enjoy it too!
Helpful Score: 4
More based on mystery and less on horror surrounding a haunting, this book was a good light read with a few steamy hookups.... Me-ow :) Thought the antagonist was a little shallow, but the main character was believable. I will be checking out more books written by this author, maybe with a nice hot cup of cocoa- not sure if this would be my author of choice for a good creepy thriller.
Helpful Score: 2
Very compelling read. I enjoyed it very much. A young woman acquires the "gift" of communicating with those who have died, and finds it leads to a frightening, if rewarding, career.
Helpful Score: 2
This book has both the passion and the mystery that I love.
Helpful Score: 1
Ghost story, mystery, suspense and love all rolled up into one
Helpful Score: 1
good story -- not scary but includes paranormal elements
Helpful Score: 1
I don't read a lot of books about paranormal stuff, somehow it just isn't that interesting, however, I did give this one a try because I used to like Graham but I'm not a reader of romances either so this one fell short for me along with the fact it just seems to drag out, should've been 100 pages less.
Helpful Score: 1
All the creepy feelings you've ever had or heard about seem to be the basis for some of the "happenings" here. It is another of Heather's good adventures.
Helpful Score: 1
Haunted has elements of a ghost story and a mystery/thriller, but it is basically a romance. Ghosts, precognition and communication with spirits, but unfortunately, no real scary moments. Probably a good choice for romance buffs who like a little lite paranormal/thriller thrown in. Although I do still enjoy a good romance now and then, the characters didn't seem believable (particularly the men) so the romance parts fizzled for me. I soldiered through the book for the paranormal parts and to solve the mystery of the ghost (not quite who I suspected from the first, but not far off either). Overall, not a bad book, but not riveting entertainment either. Maybe the author's other books are better.

Written well enough to keep my interest, but more of a romance novel than a thriller.

Really thin plot, ridiculously repetitive to the point of laughability. A romance novel disguised with an attempt to bring supernatural elements in - badly.

"A suspenseful, sexy thriller....Graham builds jagged suspense that will keep readers guessing up to the final pages." That was true for me, a really good late night, going to bed book.
Wonderful mystery with a supernatural element and plenty of romance.
Excellent read!!! Matt Stone doesn't believe in ghosts. But there are those who are convinced his house, a historic Virginia estate that dates back to the Revolutionary War, is haunted. Pressured to get at the truth about some strange happenings at Melody House, he agrees to let Harrison Investigations explore the house. But he isn't ready for beautiful, intriguing Darcy Tremayne. As a paranormal investigator, Darcy has learned to believe in the unbelievable. And she's given Matt fair waring: sometimes people don't like the skeletons she finds. She never dreamed that warning would apply to herself. For she's about to discover that Melody House holds much more than a simple mystery from the distant past. What it holds is a very real and lethal danger, one that will cast her into a struggle against the worlds of both the living and the dead.
Romantic ghost mystery. Several juicy sex scenes, a menacing ghost, and an intruder who might be spectral or might just be human.
when does a gift become a curse? Matt owns a haunted house...Darcy sees ghosts. Lots of romance and intrigue whith a hint of mystery
Darcy Tremayne became psychic after her best friend, Josh, was killed the night of their high-school prom.
Working for his dad at Harrison Investigations, she goes to historic Melody House to investigate a ghost that so scared a bride on her wedding night she ran naked down the stairs screaming.
The owner of the home, and sheriff of Stoneyville, Matt Stone, is not taken with the willowy, aristocratic-looking red-haired ghost buster to begin with because she resembles his ex-wife, but against his will, he finds himself thinking of her so much that he seems to be developing a paranormal connection that puts him near her every time she is in danger.

THIS IS A WONDERFUL BOOK ANY ONE WHO LIKES HEATHER GRAHAM WILL LOVE IT
Great blend of mystery, supernatural, and a hint of romance. The dreams that Darcy has while staying in the haunted Lee Room are really scary and the romantic tension between Matt and Darcy will keep you reading!
I absolutely loved this book, there was just enough romance (without going overboard) suspence and mystery to keep me going. I read it on a road trip and finished it in just 2 days.
I really liked this book. The story plot was very strong and I couldn't guess the bad guy until the very end. Strong character development. Highly recommended.
I gave this one star. I had high hopes for this, but this book was terrible. It stsrated out great. I didn't bother finishing it, as it was cheesy and poorly written. The dialog was so bad!! I love a good, easy read, but this was just brainless drivel.
I have had this book for a long time but just now got around to reading it. I loved it! It was so engrossing that I finished it in 2 days. It is a nice sweet book to escape from your daily worries with. I think I might check out more books by this author now.
