Once again as the narrator changed, I found myself taking a while to warm up to Eve (and missing both Elena and Paige). Perhaps because Eve had been seen as a slightly bad person in the other books, it was hard at first to want to like her and want to hear her story. But I did find myself warming to Eve and liking her story and feeling awful about her situation. And I shed a few tears at the end. Once again, Armstrong does a great job with descriptions (although there are some points where I almost wished it wasn't a great job - in the minds of killers and when Eve goes to the hell where the murderers are, especially the cave *shudder*).

Best so far in a terrific series (Women of the Otherworld). Eve Levine (half demon, witch ghost) teams up with the love of her life and afterlife, Kris and a down to earth angel to track down and recapture a demi-demon who has been feeding the need for chaos through serial murders. The characters (as always) are very real, the plot is well done and the ending is satisfying. Note to new readers - this series is FAR better if started at the beginning, due to the large cast of rotating characters.

Really enjoyed the bad but misunderstood witch, Eve's story. She is reunited with her sorcerer lover, Kristof, in the ghost realm. The plot is full of twists and turns and a surprising ending !

My first foray into dark fantasy and definitely my favorite of the series. Eve's connection to her daughter is heartbreaking, and I remember really loving the plot. It's also not as explicit as earlier works by Armstrong.

Well, I wasn't so sure I was going to enjoy Evfe's story, but so far this was my favorite in the Women of the Otherworld books. It had me biting my nails and I styed up late last night to finish it. I could not put it down. If the books get better from here on, I can't wait to continue!

My 3rd Favorite Kelley Armstrong book!
I'm a huge fan of the Kelley Armstrong books. But more so the werewolves. I wasn't as much interested in Dime Store Magic and Industrail Magic (though i did relate more to Paige than Elena). Haunted got me excited about the Kelley Armstrong witches again. There was even a cameo of one of the dead werewolves from Bitten (Daniel if you didn't catch it). Haunted was fast paced and action packed all the way through. In Stolen we heard of Eve Levine from the point of view of others. Others who saw her as a dark magic practitioner and evil. But looking through her eyes, I got a whole new view on Eve Levine and I liked her a lot more. This was a stay up all night read. I liked it a lot and highly recommend it.

I didn't completely read the book because I was very disappointed in the stories. I've read other books by Kelly Armstrong and I must say that this book does not match the quality of her other books.

Eve Levine is a witch that must cross into another dimension to track a demi-demon who inhabits bodies of would-be killers. This is a thriller/supernatural suspenseful book that had me hooked! It is a great fantasy read if you just want to escape. It is a classic good versus evil but done creatively.

SOOOO GOOD! I think Kelley Armstrong has definitely climbed to the top as my favorite fantasy/sci-fi writer. Eve is one of the funniest, toughest, coolest women in this series.

If you enjoy the Fantasy genre, this is a good one. By the author of "Industrial Magic", the book combines the Fates, scenes from the Afterlife and practical, everyday, mundane life of the living.

It dragged on and lost me in the middle. I gave up on it eventually getting better.
Although I have loved this series, I was not very excited to begin this 5th book. I didn't feel like I knew Eve at all, nor did I want to. I wanted more of Paige and Elena! I started this book only to get it over with so I could hurry on to book 6.
However...as usual, Kelly Armstrong delivered a thrilling page-turner. I warmed to Eve and enjoyed her story immensely. Was it my favorite in the series? No. But I'd still call it another hit by Armstrong.

I can't really say I was disappointed because I was expecting not to like this story after I read the synopsis on it, which is why it took me so long to acquire this book, though I breezed through her others. I love her werewolf stories (Bitten and Broken), I like the witch stories a little less but they were still good, but this one with the ghosts and the angels, demons, fates, etc. etc. in the ridiculous afterlife - well, it just had no structure and was basically a free-for-all where the author can cheat by inventing what she likes to get her characters in or out of a jam. I like Kelley Armstrong but if she tries to write another book in the same setting, I'm not reading it.
I enjoyed this one much more than the other two about witches. Eve was a fun character and all of the adventures she had to get the Nix were exciting. And while the ending was happy, it was sort of sad too... But, overall, this one was much better than the ones with Paige for a narrator. I'm VERY excited for the next one... a return to the werewolves!

After I first met Eve, I couldn't find any likable or redeeming qualities about this character. I wasn't upset when Eve died either. The biggest thing I loved about Haunted is that there is a lot more to Eve than we had seen before. Eve really surprised me. As a ghost, she demonstrates all of the same annoying characteristics she had when she was alive. Unlike in my last meeting with Eve, this time was vastly different.
It was a little sad to me that it took her dying to bring out her human side. Eve wants to watch over Savannah and is prepared to spend all of eternity doing just that and spending time with Savannah's father, Kristof, when Eve is detoured from her goal by the Fates to track down a demon who uses women to commit murder.
With the assistance of an angel, Trsiel, Eve accepts the mission which takes Eve on a whirlwind journey. Along the way, Eve crosses paths with notorious characters of the past, such as Lizzie Borden. Eve also has to use her wits when she goes into a hell dimension to track down clues.
This story moves at a very fast pace with a lot of intensity. There were so many scenes that kept me on the edge of my seat with the suspense of waiting to see what was coming next. Mixed into this, is the relationship between Eve and Kristof. I found it hopeful that Eve's afterlife wasn't suffering and torment, though I was expecting her to receive some type of punishment for her deeds while alive. The tenacity with which Eve works this assignment gave me hope that even the most darkest of witches has a heart and is worthy of redemption.

Great story, probably my 3rd favorite of her books. A little bit predictable in spots but still a great story.
Haunted by Kelley Armstrong, is another fantastic adventure in the Women of the Otherworld series. Haunted has a very unusual main character - Eve Levine, Savannah's mother and a ghost. Eve was a black witch and a half-demon when alive. She believed witch magic had been corrupted and diluted, as Paige discovers in Dime Store Magic. Eve has done many murky things to gain sorcerer and witch spells that she was able to use. This quest for greater power made Eve careless, which lead to her death before the events of Stolen occurred. While her death was a peripheral plot line in the series, the consequences where far reaching for Savannah. Much of Dime Store Magic was the result of Savannah coming to terms with her mother's death. Haunted gives a great deal of insight into how Eve and Savannah are so much alike. Eve will not let go of Savannah and spends a great of her time in the afterlife checking up on her. Eve has been reunited with Kristof, Savannah's father, but will not allow him to be more then a friend. Kristoff is not your average Cabal sorcerer. He has regretted not pursing Eve and Savannah for 15 years and is determined not to make the same mistake a second time.

I didn't like this, Kelley's 5th novel in her Women of the Otherworld series, nearly as much as the first four. This book centers on Eve, and unlike previous stories, has little to do with any of the other characters I've grown to know and love.
Eve is Savannah's mother, and a ghost in the afterlife. She's unsettled and is having a difficult time leaving her mortal life behind and embracing her new "afterlife" with Kristof Nash, Savannah's father whom we met in Dime Store Magic. Even though Eve cannot manifest to interact with Savannah, she still obsesses about a way to make that happen, despite Kris's attempts to convince her to move on.
The afterlife contains various dimensions, with the one inhabited by Eve and Kris specifically for supernaturals. In many cases, these worlds are very much like the world of the living, though they're often stuck in the time of their heydey, think 1920's Chicago, etc. The Fates govern this particular dimension, and decide to send Eve on a quest to hunt and banish an evil demi-demon Nix who has been taking up residence in the bodies of various women and inducing them to kill for the last hundred years. The three previous seekers they've sent have all failed, in one way or another, and the Fates are hoping that Eve can succeed where they have failed. Great book,could not put it down!
I really liked this book and this author. This book is third in a series (Dimestore Magic, Industrial Magic being the first two).
I am enjoying this series, but this one was a little graphic for my nighttime reading. Other than that, it's a great book.

Fun, fast paced read. I like Eve's character and enjoyed reading her story. I guess there isn't much distance between angels and demons.
Kelly Armstrong tells a great story. With her imagination, she takes the reader into the world of the afterlife where folks who've died "live" in their ghost world. Full of adventure, this exciting book will keep the reader turning pages to see what happens next! I heartily recommend this to the readers who like fantasy, supernatural, and adventure stories.
Like most readers of this book, it took me a while to warm up to Eve and to understand her and Kristoff's relationship. It was a bit of an adjustment to move from dealing with earthly supernaturals in the previous books to dealing with the ghosts and angels in this one but about halfway through the book I was hooked and began to like Eve. Though at first I was disappointed in this book, in the end Kelley Armstrong didn't let me down.
I really enjoyed the close look at Savannah's mother Eve Levine and father Kristof Nast. Interesting way to play with multi-dimensions!

Nearly finished reading this book, while it was a bit slow to get into I really am enjoying it now. If I had read this book right away after the last one in the series it would have been much easier to get into instead of having to try and remember the characters and how they all fit together. Recommend the book but make sure to read the series and in order.
