I grabbed this book when a friend of mine was looking for it (I actually got her a copy of it). It looked interesting, so I picked up a copy for myself later on. I was expecting light chick-lit, but was surprised by the depth of this novel. The author does an amazing job of developing Charlotte; I feel like I know her. I want to know what happens to her. I find I actually care (yeah, I totally realize the book is fiction, people). Very well written. I'll be looking for her first book, which I haven't read yet :-)

Overall decent book. The main character was fairly annoying, she just couldn't move on get over it!

I didn't finish this book, mainly because it was way too predictable. Also, the main character was highly annoying, and I couldn't get past that. So I put it down and realized that with all the good books I have yet to read, I no longer want to waste my time with predictable chic lit. I am sorry if that sounds snobby. With that said, someone else may enjoy a good mother/daughter story that is an easy read.

easy fun read
Loved it. Very well crafted expression of human connections. Unique voice. Can't wait to read more from this author.
It took me a while to engage with the characters, but when I did I enjoyed them and the story immensely.
This was an interesting book. You meet 40 somethign Charlotte who has been divorced for over 15 years, yet she doesn't date and seems to like being by herself even though it scares her. She has a 22 year old daughter who drops a bombshell on her and the book basically explores their relationship. It was a pretty good book though i found both Charlotte and her daughter a tad annoying at times.
A quick chick lit read from Mom's point of view.
Charlotte has grown used to being alone. She relies on familiar routines to get her through her day. But at night, her imagination runs wild, worrying about what might happen to her fearless college-age daughter.
When Emily and her live-in boyfriend come home to visit her for a weekend visit, Charlotte has a few lessons to learn.

Good read. I like the way the author writes.
