I absolutely loved this book. I had it read in 30 hrs (that includes work/sleep time!). It is such a page turner, you will not want to put it down!! Seems stingy of me to keep it and not share a good read with someone else! If you like a little mystery and a little romance, this is the book. Definately in the top three of best books I have ever read, along with The Program by Stephen White and A Darker Justice by Sally Bissell.

This book was not my usual genre, but I truly enjoyed this book. I started reading it and could not put it down. I loved the characters and the way the author made it believable. It was well-written and I highly recommend it. I was not disappointed.

THE HEALER is an absolute gem of a book. A fast and easy read. It's a suspense/romance that has a paranormal flavor to the
book that I love. The storyline is simple full of beauty and delving deep within the spirit of the human heart. The story has
lots of emotion flowing through it. It wasn't sad really, just emotional. The vivid prose thoroughly captivates. You can
picture yourself walking through the small town of Little Top and knowing every person there. Just as you can almost touch the
affinity that Jonah has with his animal friends and are electrified every time he uses his healing powers. A very moving and
beautiful book, as you feel the powerful emotion generated when Jonah heals with love and human kindness.

If your looking for a book with edge and one that felt current, if you are looking for edge of your seat excitement, steamy
sex or a relationship that develops in a logical way this book ain't for you. Don't let that deter you though. Fantastic!

Paranormal romance, not quite as mysterious as Sala's usual. Stand-alone, not part of a series. Pretty good read.

From back cover: All his life, Jonah Gray Wolf has had an uncanny connection to animals and the power to heal the sick and wounded. Driven from the only home he's ever known by those who wish to harness his gift for profit, he becomes a drifter, working in out-of-the-way towns, never staying long. It's a lonely life, but Jonah knows he's still being hunted--he can't afford to get close to anyone who might learn his secret.
In West Virginia he finds Luce, a tough but beautiful loner who knows all about keeping people at a distance--a kindred soul with whom he might dare to make a life. But the hunters have caught Jonah's scent again. Danger is coming to their mountain refuge.

Great read! Sharon Sala never disappoints! Her characters are beautifully defined; I feel like I would know them if I passed them on the street. I like the touch of the paranormal she adds. I couldn't put this book down.

Just my kind of hero :) This was a light book about a man with healing powers and maybe even something beyond that. His introduction to the human world is amazing, sweet, and makes you curious to where the story will go. The suspense was there for his story and that's what kept me interested. Hers was there but seemed to be there just so that a hero with an extraordinary problem could have someone who could relate to being hunted, too. Anyway, a simple story that I read in one night.

this was my first Sharon Sala book and I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the fact that it lead me to more of her books and her alter ego Dinah McCall...

This is like most of Sharon Sala's thicker books (not the monthly romance set). There are darker elements; the characters are shaped by tragedy. There are funny moments, dramatic moments, danger stalking them. The story pulls you along. I read it in two nights.

This one is definitely worth re-reading.

Sharon Sala is one of my favorite authors, and this book did not disappoint me. The story unfolds quickly and easily and it immediately drew me in. The character of Jonah is a very likable character, and his connection with animals and his healing powers make him even more likeable. The story line of him being hunted and the love story between him and Luce were ones that kept me interested. I usually only read for about 30 minutes a day and it can takes me days or weeks to read a book, however, I read this one in 2 or 3 days time! There were a couple flaws in the information about Alaska, which distracted me, but if you haven't lived in Alaska(like I have) then you probably won't even notice.

LOVED this book. I personally think this was one of Sharon Salas' best work. Made me cry more than once. She put so much emotion into her story. It was SO good I read it twice and then passed it on to a friend. Highly recommended work of fiction.

So far this is my favorite book by Sharon Sala, although I have not read everything she has written. This story really touched me. It is a simple romance with a who-done-it thriller storyline for the heroine and an ongoing story with a satisfying conclusion for the hero, who are both very likable characters. Add just a bit of unexplained paranormal and you have a great, great story, one I will read over and over, and every time I do, the ending still gives me goosebumps! On my keeper shelf for sure.
