A sweet story about faith that also explores friendships between women from different walks of life who are brought together for a common cause. I couldn't wait to see how things turned out for each of them!

Beautifully written book about loss. Also, a way to show loss without someone dying.
Excellent novel of women bonding together to make a quilt to raise money for a mammogram machine. And healing together at the same time.
Hardcover. Joining together to change their community, four women experience a surprising restoration of hearts and lives.
When her Aunt Teza faces a second bout with breast cancer, Kit Cooper resolves to raise money for a new mammogram unit by creating a magnificent king-sized quilt to be sewn and auctioned by the women of Jefferson City.
Kit's efforts quickly draw the support of disparate members of the community, including a young newcomer Beth Donnelly, married to a local pastor; Elaine Giovanni, the stylish wife of a local surgeon; and an ailing Aunt Teza. But as the four women work the squares of the quilt, they also are confronted with ragged pieces of their own lives.
Though the women could not be more different on the surface, they hold in common quiet suffering triggered by painful circumstances: the death of children, the abandonment of husbands, the loneliness of depression. Yet their struggles will bring them closer together than they ever could have anticipated and their lives will be dramatically changed, as together they experience the curative powers of The Healing Quilt.

I really enjoyed this book. It's a contemporary story of a multi-generational group of women who come together to make a quilt in support of a great cause. The final result is far more than a beautiful blanket.
This is a fantastic book for women. The story revolves around the quilt, but the healing happens for the individuals involved. :-D
