An awesome book that really sheds light on a lot of things.
Aren't Brandshaw's books all excellent?
Bradshaw shows us how toxic shame is the core problem in our compulsions, co-dependencies, addictions and the drive to superachieve, etc. . . . he offers techniques to heal our shame.
"Shame begets shame." "John Bradshaw came to see that shame is one of the major destructive forces in all human life." "In naming share, He began to have power over it," Actually, it wasn't until I turned my Life Over to God (my Higher Power), that I was actually able to ask Jesus' forgiveness, and stop feeling shame.
this book is incredible for anyone who is an addict. It goes very deep into childhood to find the source of what made us start to use in the first place. This book was life changing and thanks to it, I am free from the bondage of shame
