This bookwas hard for me to get into. I skipped many parts and only enjoyed the very ending.
This is the third book in theis series, maybe the best one. It's about a noble born healer whose first husband had been killed while trying to heal a duelist, and the noble born fighter who fell in love with her.
Healer Lark Collinson and Holm Holly....talk about an odd match! She hates fighting and thats what he is the best at! Her first husband was killed in a street dueling match and Holm Holly's life seems to be one endless duel after another and unfornately it seems to be with her father no less!!!
Now add to the mix, Holm finds out she is his HeartMate and again he can't tell her!!! What a mix!!!
Third book in this series and all the fam cat's and laughs and tears you can handle!!!

Interesting series! People in Celta have more "flair", a magical energy used to heal, teleport, talk mind-to-mind, and connect rare HeartMates - vibrant soul loves.
the romace is great, but the stories are quite interesting; I was not a romace reader, but these books are good with the added heat of great loving!

3rd book in series. These books are great reading. If you read one you will want to read the other 3.
Both "Heart Thief" and "Heart Duel" are excellent. They are about this world that the author has created, a rather interesting world (sci-fi). Heart Thief is book 2 and follows Heart Mate, which I've not had the opportunity to read. The main male character in Heart Duel is mentioned in Heart Thief, and nothing more. You know of him and his family. A well-written story-line and likeable characterizations.
Really good read. I thought there could have been just a little more added to make it better, but I still liked it. I will continue to read the series.
Heart Duel is book 3 in the Celta Heart Mates series and although a good read it is not my favorite of the books. Definitely a keeper but the hero is far more likable than the heroine who seems to suffer from an acute case of reverse snobbishness. Nothing and no one in the first families is acceptable to her; and as a healer she deplores all fighters. The hero, of course, is both. Their kitten fams [introduced by the delightful character, 'Vinni' T'Vine, the boy prophet] are amusing in their differences. The romance is resolved - but tragic events occur in both of their families and further developments await in later books. At least the 'star-crossed lovers' survive the experience...
One of the strengths of Robin Owens' writing is her believable world-building. She has crafted a fascinating, self-consistent world that she draws the reader into - background information always appears when needed and is never presented out of context. The characters have depth and you see their world, and their stories through their eyes.
Do not read the series out of order...

Love this whole series.
I absolutely love this series!! Watching the suave and handsome Holm Holly Jr. fumble, stumble, and botch the courtship was entertaining, even though I felt the heroine made things harder for him than it needed to be. I hate when the hero does absolutely everything right. My imagination can only be suspended so far!! LOL!!!
