Do You know your neighbors? Do you care about them? Recently, I found out that 2 of my neighbors spouses died and I did not know. That is inexcusable. We went to go visit the widowed spouses my daughter and I. This book is about 733 people who died alone in a heat wave in July 1995. It is a sad story of the apathy of our society. Many people were to blame. Most of all Richard Daly, mayor of Chicago from 1989-2011. The man was cold.

The author does an outstanding report in many different aspects of this sad, sad story. Please as you read this think how you can make your neighborhood, a better place, and do not hesitate to check on and socialize with your neighbors.
Very well written.
