I really couldn't understand why Oliver was so conflicted until he explained himself at the end. He was a very low-keyed hero but his feelings ran deep, and he was so different from the wildly flamboyant and strong Jane. That's not to say he wasn't strong; he was just misdirected by his ambition. I admired Jane's courage for making no apologies for who she was and she stayed true to herself throughout the story. Oliver and Jane's romance was rather subdued but delicious; nothing graphic but utterly romantic, especially when he proposes to her and confesses just how much she means to him. Well done! 4 stars.
