I usually enjoy books about overseas adoptions, but the overpowering religious tone in this one was too much. Especially the paragraph about how it was God's intention that the parents would have to "break the child's will" as she got older to be sure she behaved. Made me feel sorry for the adoptee, rather than happy.

this book was really just ok. Super easy, super fast read though

Kluck uses his breezy, hilarious sports writing style, combined with his modern Christianity, to tell the no frills, all facts bared adventure of adopting their son from the Ukraine and then doing again, and then letting us know that they are contemplating it a third time. Read this just for its readability, read it if you are contemplating such an adoption - whatever reason you have for reading it - read it.
