Hi. I'm hoping someone will know this book I'm thinking of. It was probably 90s ish when it came out. Maybe. A English girl is staying with her relatives, her parents are dead and she's going to come into an inheritance. If she does not marry, they will be in charge of it. So they dress her poorly, and make her look rather plain in hopes she won't drawl anyone's attention. They go to a ball, and it's her last chance to find a husband, she walks up to I think an American, or someone with plans on going to America, and tells him about everything. He comes to claim her, and they go to America. I'm pretty sure that's how it goes. If anyone could help, that would be amazing. It's been driving me crazy for days now!
