Merrie and Sari Greyling were the daughters of Darwin Graying.  He was a lunatic who beat his daughers with a doubled over belt.  Once Darwin died, Sari Greyling fell in love with and married, Paul Fiore, an FBI agent. A hit had been hired to kill  Darwin's daughters in retribution for killing a man's mother.  In order to avoid falling prey to the hired hit man, Meredith (Merrie) Grayling is going to stay at a ranch jointly owned by Randall Colter and his brother, Ren.  For the life of me, I can't remember the name of the book about Ren Colter and Merrie Greyling.
