Henry and Mudge books are terrific for young readers not quite ready for chapter books but are ready to begin trying them on. Colorful illustrations take half of the page and support comprehension of three short chapters within the book. A beginner's table of contents introduces young learners to the format of a chapter book.

Cynthia Rylant is a great author, I still love all of her books, even though I've gotten a little too old for Henry and Mudge, {ect}. I LOVE all of her bigger chapter books, she's just a terrific author!
