I have had this book on my wish list for some time and came across an audio copy. Excellent. It gave me a look into some careers I never knew anything about -- game wardens and game warden chaplains. The stories are of people and nature are genuine and touch the heart throughout. It's a look at motherhood through the eyes of someone you would expect to always do it "right" but like all of us, makes mistakes. I really enjoyed it and plan to put it at the top of my gift idea list for others as well.

I really enjoyed this book. Listening to it, read by author, gave the words additional meaning. Poetic, funny, sad, and always, just real. I found myself listening to each CD twice, because I would get lost in thought over a particular passage. I highly recommend, though for some who have recently suffered a loss, it might be too much.
I loved this book. I'm usually not a big fan of authors reading their own books, but I can't imagine this one being as wonderful or touching in someone else's voice. kate Braestrup is someone you will want to invite in for coffee - she has a wonderful gift of turning life into a well-told story. Her approach is very spiritual and loving without being preachy and over bearing. I have a better understanding of what chaplains within the law enforcement community do, and I have a found a voice that speaks to my soul with comfort, humor, and sincerity. I only wish I could ask her over for a chat and coffee! Do yourself a favor and give this book a listen.
This is a true story and it has a lot of heart. But there are some REAL tough spots and being a true stroy just makes it rougher.
